Buteyko Training in Australia, North America and the UK
Using the Buteyko Method improved their health and the health of their son to such an extent that Russell and Jennifer Stark trained as Buteyko practitioners with Alexander Stalmatski and then with Dr. Konstantin Buteyko, Ludmilla Buteyko and Dr. Andrey Novozhilov.
Since commencing their career teaching the Buteyko method in 1993, the pair has taught more than 8000 people with breathing-related problems, trained over one hundred new practitioners, written the Carbon Dioxide Syndrome book, arranged two international conferences, and taught in a number of clinical studies and trials.
Russell and Jennifer conduct Buteyko training courses in several locations, often working in conjunction with local practitioners to maximise the learning experience and to minimise the expense for trainees.
The Buteyko programme is not a 'one size fits all' so trainees are taught how to manipulate the Buteyko Method when teaching people who have asthma, allergies, snoring, sleep apnoea, panic attacks, emphysema, hypertension, diabetes, and many other conditions.
Included in a wide selection of training materials, trainees receive four manuals from the Starks:
The 70,000 word Buteyko Therapists / Practitioners Guide that gives you in-depth information about the diseases and treatments that Buteyko helps, as well as how to conduct a class and to safely intervene with the Buteyko exercises.
The Business manual tells you how to run your Buteyko business and is based upon real life businesses that are still operating. You will learn sound marketing, advertising and office management skills that have been tried and tested in Buteyko practices for a number of years. People who are already marketing their own businesses teach this, so the information is reality-based.
The Research manual explains procedures for research, and the comprehensive Resource manual, which provides trainees with dozens of articles and important documents that help prepare you for both promoting and teaching the Buteyko Method.
Trainees find these manuals invaluable because they are written in easy to read language, and the class instructions have been successfully used in clinical trials.
As well as having it all in writing, you gain real experience by working with people who have real breathing problems as part of the practical section of our training course.
Once the training course is completed you still receive guidance from your trainers any time that it is needed. We recognise prior learning and so we offer two levels of training. The aim of our training is to help our trainees to be the best Buteyko practitioner possible so that you feel confident with teaching and can make a serious difference to the health of your community.
